“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go…” — Matthew 28:18–19
We say it at the end of our prayers all the time:
“In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
But let’s pause and ask: Do we know what that means?
Because it’s not a religious phrase. It’s not spiritual punctuation. It’s not a lucky charm.
“In His name” means you come in His authority. You come as His representative.
When you live in Jesus’ name, you are carrying His seal, His power, and His mission.
And you don’t get to live in His name while also walking in fear, defeat, or spiritual laziness.
You Are a Representative of Heaven
The Bible calls you an ambassador of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20).
Ambassadors don’t speak on their own behalf—they carry the words, values, and power of the one who sent them.
That’s who you are in this world.
You don’t pray in your own power—you pray in His power.
You don’t walk in your own wisdom—you walk in His Word.
You don’t face spiritual battles in your own strength—you fight in His authority.
When you say “in Jesus’ name,” you’re declaring:
“I come in the name of the One who conquered death, crushed the enemy, and reigns forever.”
The Authority of Jesus Is Not a Passive Accessory
Let’s be clear: God didn’t give you authority to decorate your spiritual life.
He gave it to you because you’re in a war—and He wants you to be equipped.
“I have given you authority… to overcome all the power of the enemy.” — Luke 10:19
Spiritual authority is not just for the pastors and preachers.
It’s for every believer who walks in surrender to Christ.
You are not some helpless, weak Christian trying to make it through the day.
You are a warrior clothed in righteousness, and you’ve been given permission to stand, speak, bind, loose, resist, and proclaim truth in Jesus’ name.
But here's the catch: you can’t carry His authority if you won’t carry His cross.
Authority Flows from Surrender
Many Christians want the power of Jesus without the path of Jesus.
But that’s not how the Kingdom works.
You walk in His name only when you walk in alignment with Him.
The more you surrender, the more He entrusts to you.
You can’t represent Heaven while still clinging to the values of the world.
You can’t speak His name with power while refusing to obey His Word in private.
The power of your spiritual authority is directly tied to the depth of your surrender.
You Are Not Powerless
It’s easy to feel discouraged when you look at the state of the world.
But let me remind you: God never leaves His children unequipped.
That’s why Scripture constantly tells us:
Don’t fear.
Don’t give up.
Be bold.
Be strong and courageous.
Not because the battle isn’t real—but because you are not alone.
The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you.
And when you speak, pray, and act in alignment with God’s will—you carry the weight of Heaven behind you.
So What Now?
This isn’t a pep talk. It’s a wake-up call.
You don’t need to “find yourself.” You need to remember who sent you.
Start living like a woman on assignment—because you are.
Closing Prayer
Lord, I don’t want to walk in fear when You’ve called me to walk in authority.
Teach me what it truly means to live and pray in the name of Jesus.
I surrender my life again—my plans, my pride, my comforts.
Align my heart with Heaven so I can carry Your name with truth, power, and integrity.
Thank You that I don’t face this world alone.
Strengthen me to represent You boldly and faithfully.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
