“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness…” — Ephesians 6:12

If you think this world is just a place to find yourself, build a comfortable life, and get along with everyone—you’re not seeing it for what it really is.

This world is not a playground.

And the sooner we see that, the sooner we can stop being surprised when life feels like a fight.

We Are at War—But Not With People

Let’s be very clear: our enemies are not other humans.
Not your coworker, your atheist uncle, your ex, or that church member who hurt you.

Our true battle is spiritual—against demonic forces that operate behind the scenes, influencing thoughts, systems, and hearts.

Darkness shows up in deception, distraction, compromise, and false comfort. And the longer we pretend there’s no battle, the easier it is for him to move unnoticed.

You Don’t Negotiate With Darkness

We are living in a generation where darkness is being marketed as light.

  • Lies are being sold as compassion.

  • Confusion is labeled as tolerance.

  • Sin is celebrated under the banner of freedom.

But you don’t make peace with demonic forces.
You don’t entertain them.
You don’t invite them for dinner to be nice.

You fight them.

Jesus didn’t smile and nod at evil.
He rebuked it.
He cast it out.
He challenged the lies.
And yes—He got angry.

The Jesus the World Doesn’t Want to See

There’s a reason the world wants to portray Jesus as only gentle, soft, and agreeable. Because a soft Jesus doesn’t confront sin. A soft Jesus doesn’t demand repentance. A soft Jesus can be remade in the world’s image.

But the real Jesus—the Biblical Jesus—was not afraid to offend the flesh to save the soul.

He called people to repentance.
He exposed religious hypocrisy.
He warned of Hell.
He turned the culture upside down.

And He still does.

He didn’t place you here to blend in with the world. He called you to come out from among them. He placed you here to be set apart, to carry light into darkness, and to advance His Kingdom while others retreat into comfort.

Yes, the battle is real. But so is your assignment.

You’re Not Alone in the Fire

God doesn’t call you into battle and leave you to figure it out.

Over and over again in Scripture, He reminds us:

Do not fear.

Be strong and courageous.

Let not your heart be troubled.

The Lord your God goes before you.

If it was easy, He wouldn’t need to repeat those words so often.
But He does—because He knows the battle is intense, and He wants you to know you’re never alone.

He equips those He calls.
He strengthens those He sends.
And He fights for those who walk with Him.

Final Charge: Wake Up, Warrior

It’s time to stop living like a civilian.
It’s time to stop being surprised by opposition, discomfort, or rejection.

You’re in a war.
But you’re not just a soldier—you’re on God’s side. And that means victory is already yours, even if it looks like you’re on the losing team. Open your spiritual eyes.

Now is the time to rise with truth, pray with fire, love with boldness, and refuse to back down.

Closing Prayer

Lord, open my eyes to see the spiritual war around me.
Help me stop fighting people and start fighting the true enemy.
Give me discernment to recognize lies dressed as truth, and courage to speak up when it matters most.
Strengthen me with Your Word, arm me with prayer, and remind me that You go before me.
I’m ready to fight the good fight of faith—in Your strength and for Your glory.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
